How many fans can I operate on my water cooling system? Can I also use them in push-pull configuration?
The number of fans connected in series depends on the output of the motherboard. Motherboard fan connectors typically have an output of 1 to 2 amps. The current rating of our fans can be found on the back of the motor hub and under the technical details.
Example using the Liquid Freezer II 360: The water pump and the VRM fan together have 2.7 W/0.225 A and a P12 PWM fan has 1.2 W | 0.1 A.
Water pump and VRM fans as well as six P12 PWM (PST) fans in push-pull configuration can easily be connected in series on a 1 amp motherboard connector.
Otherwise, if you want to use the P12 Max, a header with at least 2 amperes must be selected, as three fans (including the pump) already exceed the specified current consumption of 1 amps with a PWM signal of 100 %. You can find exact specifications for your fan headers in the manual or in the technical data of your motherboard.
